Bend one visible branch cluster gently with a consistent breeze while preserving its connections and the fixed trunk.

Move branches in a consistent breeze

1. Task and boundary

Animate a small part of an outdoor view rather than shifting the entire tree. Use one clear branch cluster, a fixed trunk and a still background reference. A gentle bend toward frame right followed by a partial recovery is enough to suggest a breeze without a storm or repeated large swings.

The related curtain exercise separates flexible motion from a fixed window. This task uses the same distinction for a branching structure, where the original trunk and branch junctions must remain identifiable. See Curtain breeze: move the cloth, fix the window.

These are suggested visual beats, not guaranteed timing or model controls. Adapt the small movement to the supplied first frame and actual available settings.

2. Authorized first frame

Provide an original or authorized tree image with the trunk, main branch junction and a smaller leaf-bearing branch visible. Leave space on the right for a small bend and include a stable wall, rock or distant horizon. Prefer sparse, readable foliage over a dense silhouette.

3. Use the generator

Open the image-to-video generator, provide your authorized first frame and paste the prompt. Check available settings and cost before submitting; this page does not upload or submit for you.

  1. Opening: identify the trunk, branch junction and still background reference.
  2. Action: follow the smaller branch’s bend and compare it with the fixed trunk.
  3. Ending: allow partial recovery, then check that all visible connections remain.

4. Prompt and timing

Use the supplied first frame with a fixed camera. Keep the original trunk and main branch junction in place. A light breeze from frame left toward frame right gently bends the selected smaller branch and its leaves toward the right. Preserve the original branching connections; flexible portions may curve but must not detach or form new junctions. Let the leaves respond with small, slightly varied movements rather than moving as a rigid sheet. As the breeze eases, allow a modest recovery toward the starting position. Keep the background reference still. No trunk translation, broken branches, falling leaves, storm or camera movement. End with the same connected branch cluster and only mild residual motion.

5. Inspect the output

Inspect the actual opening, motion and ending. For each criterion, record a frame or time and pass, fail or inconclusive; hidden details remain inconclusive.

  • The trunk and main junction remain at their original positions.
  • The smaller branch stays connected through the bend and partial recovery.
  • The main deflection is toward frame right; small recoil does not become unrelated opposing gusts.
  • Leaves remain associated with the original branch cluster without the entire tree sliding across the background.

6. Fix one failure

  • If the whole tree slides, anchor the trunk and reduce the animated area to one branch cluster.
  • If a junction splits, use a clearer input and a smaller bend.
  • If leaves move as one flat sheet, ask for small varied leaf motion while keeping one main bend direction.

7. Ending and limits

The same branch cluster remains attached to the fixed trunk after a small bend and partial recovery.

This is a suggested landscape motion, not a measurement of wind speed, branch stiffness or a tree species’ wind resistance. Partly hidden junctions remain inconclusive.
