Plan one segmented layer rotating as a rigid group while the lower layers stay fixed.
Turn only a cube’s top layer through one quarter turn
Original, untested video brief. No input image or generated result is supplied.
1. Task and boundary
Hold the lower part of a plain three-layer twist puzzle and rotate only its top layer through a quarter turn. Follow the moving seam, top corners and simple surface marks. End with the top layer aligned to the lower square again, with all pieces still present.
This original visual plan is untested. Use a simple unbranded three-by-three cube and one slow layer turn. Exclude solving methods, impossible piece swaps, exact finger tricks and a full-object spin substituted for layer movement.
2. Authorized first frame
Use a photograph or accurate drawing you own or have permission to use. Show the cube squarely aligned at the start, with one hand supporting the lower two layers and the other resting on the top layer. Use plain panels with a few distinct small marks.
Choose an upper oblique view showing the top, front and one side. Keep the seam below the top layer visible and leave room for its corners to sweep outward. Avoid printed logos, completed-image requirements and fingers that hide the whole seam.

4. Prompt and timing
Start from my authorized image of an aligned three-layer twist cube, with the original hands holding the lower two layers and the top layer separately. Lock the camera and lower layers. Turn only the top layer slowly through one quarter turn around the cube’s vertical axis. Keep that whole layer a rigid square group; its corners sweep beyond the fixed lower outline during the intermediate angle. Preserve the seam beneath it and keep every visible surface mark attached to its original piece. The lower two layers do not rotate, stretch or rearrange. Finish when the top layer is squarely aligned with the lower outline again after the quarter turn, then hold. No second turn, whole-cube spin, missing piece, sticker morph, instant color exchange, camera move or cut.
- Establish, first fifth: identify the fixed lower layers, top seam and original marked pieces.
- Turn, middle three fifths: inspect an intermediate oblique layer position before it reaches its new alignment.
- Hold, final fifth: confirm the completed quarter turn and unchanged lower-layer arrangement.
5. Inspect the output
For each check, record a frame or time, observation and pass, fail or inconclusive judgment.
- The top layer rotates relative to an otherwise fixed lower cube.
- Top corners visibly sweep through an intermediate angle rather than swapping places instantly.
- The layer remains one square group without individual pieces orbiting separately.
- Visible marks travel with their original pieces instead of changing colors in place.
- The final layer aligns after one quarter turn while the lower layers keep their starting pose.
- If the seam is continuously hidden, mark independent layer motion inconclusive.
6. Fix one failure
- The whole cube rotates: anchor the lower hand and lower corner positions.
- Colors exchange without motion: request a visible halfway angle with attached marks.
- Pieces separate: preserve the top layer as a single rigid group.
- The cube remains misaligned: stop at the next square alignment rather than an arbitrary angle.
- The hand hides the seam: revise its grip so the front layer boundary stays readable.
7. Ending and limits
Finish with a newly oriented top layer aligned over the unchanged lower two layers and no missing pieces.
Save your result, authorized input, exact prompt, settings and inspection notes.
No H3 output, puzzle solution, cube-mechanism validation or guaranteed piece tracking is supplied. The quarter turn is a requested visual sequence, not a measured model capability.
The paired-gear task requires two separate linked rotating parts. Here one segmented layer rotates above stationary layers, with intermediate corner overhang and final square realignment as the key checks.
