Plan parallel slats turning about their own fixed axes, opening view gaps while the headrail and bottom rail remain still.

Tilt blind slats without raising the blind

Original, untested video brief. No input image or generated result is supplied.

1. Task and boundary

Open the view through one horizontal blind by tilting its existing slats. The slats rotate together about separate parallel axes while their center heights and spacing remain fixed. A background post becomes more visible through the widening gaps, and the blind itself stays at the same height. The task distinguishes changing slat orientation from lifting the entire blind or shrinking the strips.

This original visual brief is untested. Use a small blind with readable slat ends, visible ladder supports and an existing tilt wand. Request one moderate opening tilt followed by a hold. Exclude raising the bottom rail, removing slats, a central iris opening, a wind-driven flap and internal gearing claims. The wand is a visible action cue, not proof of its hidden mechanism.

2. Authorized first frame

Prepare a photograph or accurate drawing you own or have permission to use. Show a short horizontal blind with five broad slats initially tilted mostly closed, leaving narrow existing gaps. A fixed vertical post behind it is already partly visible through those gaps. The headrail and bottom rail are both inside the frame.

Choose a near-front view slightly above the slat centers so their long edges and end thicknesses can be distinguished. One original hand holds the existing tilt wand at the side. Keep the hand clear of the slats and retain the same background behind every gap. Avoid printed words and changing outdoor scenery.

4. Prompt and timing

Start from my authorized image of a horizontal blind with five existing slats, narrow gaps, visible ladder supports, fixed top and bottom rails, and a partly visible vertical post behind it. The original hand holds the side tilt wand. Lock the camera, window frame and background post. Turn the wand slowly once through a short adjustment. Tilt all five slats coherently toward a more open orientation around their own separate parallel lengthwise axes. Keep each slat center at its original height and preserve the distances between those axes. Let the changing orientation open wider sight gaps and reveal more of the same background post. Preserve slat length, width, end thickness, count and support attachments; apparent face narrowing must come from rotation, not material shrinking. Do not raise the bottom rail, stack the slats at the top, bend them like fabric, detach their ends or rotate them around one common central pivot. Stop the wand and hold the open tilt. No new scenery, extra hand, camera move, cut or angle measurement label.
  1. Opening: identify the five slats, fixed rails, narrow gaps and repeated fragments of the background post.
  2. Middle: compare slat end edges at several positions while checking that center heights and support spacing stay fixed.
  3. Ending: stop at an open tilt with wider gaps and more of the same post visible, without lifting or stacking the blind.

These beats are author suggestions, not exact model timing guarantees. Adapt their proportions to the clip length actually available.

5. Inspect the output

After inspecting your own output, record a time or frame, visible observation and pass, fail or inconclusive judgment for each condition. A convincing ending alone does not verify the preceding action.

  • The headrail, bottom rail and slat center heights remain fixed.
  • The original five slats change orientation together about separate parallel axes.
  • Slat ends remain coherent, with no shortening, splitting or new strip appearing.
  • Wider gaps expose more of the same fixed background post.
  • The ladder supports retain their attachments as the slats tilt.
  • The final blind remains at the original height instead of stacking upward.
  • If the slat ends are hidden, mark rotation-versus-shrinkage inconclusive.

6. Fix one failure

  • The blind rises: keep both rails fixed and remove raise, lift or retract wording.
  • Slats shrink thinner: expose the end edges and preserve material width while changing angle.
  • The strips rotate around one point: assign each a separate long axis at its original height.
  • New scenery appears between gaps: establish a simple fixed background in the input and reveal only more of it.
  • One slat bends or lags independently: reduce the requested tilt and ask for one coordinated change without wave effects.

7. Ending and limits

Finish with all original slats held at a more open tilt, unchanged rail positions and a clearer view of the original background post.

Save your own generated result through the available result controls, together with the authorized input, exact prompt, settings and inspection notes.

No generated result, blind-hardware inspection, measured opening angle or daylight-transmission test is supplied. A coherent tilt can be judged visually, but the clip does not validate hidden linkages, exact slat dimensions or a real product specification.

The iris-aperture task changes a central opening between overlapping blades. The folding-fan task spreads ribs about a shared lower pivot. This task retains separate parallel axes and repeated gaps while rotating the slats without changing the blind height.
