A scavenger crawls to the top of a dune ridge on his stomach and looks over. Below in the basin, an entire buried city is surfacing, buildings pushing up through the sand slowly, like something breathing out. He doesn't move. Doesn't radio. Just watches the world underneath the world reveal itself.
