# Turn an empty palm: follow the thumb through the edge-on view

Plan one turn from palm-facing to back-of-hand-facing. The thumb must travel with the hand around its edge; replacing the palm drawing with a mirrored copy does not establish a continuous turn.

**Original geometric practice input; untested teaching method. No H3 call or generated result is included.**

## 1. Input and task goal

The original close-up contains one open hand, all five simplified digits, a coral cuff and a teal forearm entering from below. The thumb starts on picture left. Two short palm creases distinguish the starting surface. There is no object, ring, nail polish, text or second hand. Space beside the thumb leaves room for the edge-on interval.

## 2. Action phases and fixed relationships

The hand and forearm rotate together around the forearm’s length while the elbow-side end stays near its original position. The cuff can turn with the wrist; it is not glued to the background. Track the thumb root and outer contour rather than assuming a palm line should remain visible on the back surface. The drawing simplifies anatomy and supplies no unseen photographic detail.

| Phase | Relationship to inspect |
| --- | --- |
| 1 | Palm: thumb is on picture left and palm creases are visible. |
| 2 | Edge: the visible palm narrows while the thumb travels around the silhouette. |
| 3 | Back: the back of the same hand faces the viewer; palm creases are hidden. |
| 4 | Hold: the same wrist and forearm remain connected in the turned pose. |

Phases specify order, not exact timing controls. The review diagram is an authored checklist, not output frames or an ending-frame input.

## 3. Prepare one manual task

1. Check that the thumb root, wrist and elbow-side forearm are all inside the crop. Without the root, a disappearing thumb cannot be distinguished from ordinary occlusion.
2. Request one continuous turn and stop. Do not add waving, finger curling or an object reveal to this first surface-orientation task.
3. For a future result, pause as the palm becomes narrow. Track the thumb to the changing outline; a sudden swap between two broad flat hand images is a failure.
4. Inspect the back-facing hold for persistent palm lines or a detached wrist. If the middle is hidden by blur, log not-observable rather than inferring a rotation from different endpoints.

In the [image-to-video workspace](/generator/image-to-video), manually choose the MiniMax H3 base mode and place the clean PNG in the first-frame role, leaving the ending frame empty. Check that the current interface supports this combination and inspect its actual estimate; if unavailable, do not submit or put the review diagram into another slot. Downloads do not upload files or start tasks. This exercise assumes no duration, resolution or frame-control guarantee.

## 4. Complete original prompt

```text
Begin with the supplied original open-hand drawing, palm facing the viewer, thumb on picture left, coral cuff and teal forearm below. Keep the camera fixed. Turn the same hand and forearm slowly around the forearm’s length so the palm becomes narrow in an edge-on view and then the back of the hand faces the viewer. Let the thumb travel continuously around the hand outline; do not mirror the image or teleport it to the other edge. Palm creases become hidden as the palm turns away. Keep all digits part of the same hand and keep the wrist connected to the turning cuff and forearm. Stop in the back-facing pose. No second hand, object, wave, finger curl, cut, extra digit or detached wrist. This is an untested surface-continuity request.
## 5. Inspect the actual sequence
Fill observations only when real footage exists. Watch the full take, pause around the relevant contact, separation or order change, then replay at normal speed. Timecode, outcome and note cells start empty. Use pass, fail or not-observable; an obscured event is not a pass.
- The starting thumb root and palm surface are visible.
- Palm width narrows during an intermediate edge-on phase.
- Thumb motion can be followed around the changing contour.
- The hand does not jump directly to a mirrored flat image.
- Palm creases cease to face the viewer in the back-facing hold.
- One wrist stays connected to the same forearm throughout.
## 6. Change one failed variable
- Thumb jumps sides → clarify only continuous travel through the edge-on phase.
- Palm lines remain on the back → strengthen only the surface-visibility change; do not erase the thumb.
- Wrist twists away from the cuff → assign cuff rotation with the wrist rather than fixing it to the background.
- The whole forearm sweeps sideways → constrain only the elbow-side end; retain the rotation request.
## 7. Retain evidence and task boundaries
Save the palm-facing, narrow-edge and back-facing observations separately. This task includes no verified hand rotation, motion range measurement or anatomical test. Hidden finger detail remains unknown.
The clap task briefly joins two palm surfaces; placement releases an external object. The golf-ball prompt turns a palm to display an object during dialogue. Here the hand is empty, the operation changes the visible surface, and the acceptance evidence concerns thumb travel and wrist continuity.
